I have never spent much time in a non-human avi. Just was not interested, somehow, and didn't feel comfortable doing that. But yesterday, two new friends of mine, Faerie & Dunan, TP'd me over to the Chakryn Forest... and they were fauns. Faerie wanted to take some pictures, she said, and asked whether I had a faun avatar, which of course I didn't. "We can just hide you behind a tree," she giggled.
But then I thought, why not? So they brought me to Titiana's Court and got me all set up with an avi, and then I was like OMG my boobs are on display, what do I do now? So they brought me to MandyMandy McMillan's store, where I got a prim bikini made out of roses, and I was all set!
That's me, Dunan and Faerie from left to right. I have to keep reminding myself Faerie is the taller of the two, coz in my mind, faeries are dainty petite creatures, lol.
As we were taking pictures, we ran into another faun who was very excited because she had never seen so many fauns together at one time. She called her sister to come over, and we took a group pic! Faerie had difficulty finding suitable props, especially since the invisiprim alphas in our faun legs clashed with other prims, so that's why we're all standing :)
However, I wasn't very satisfied with my faunishness so I spent today looking for all the right accessories and tweaking my look. Doing something new has been good for me -- I haven't felt this excited about SL in a long time. It's like looking at the world through new eyes. And somehow I don't mind being a faun; I guess it's close enough to a human that it doesn't matter. Maybe I'll be a fairy next ;)
So after getting all dolled up I had to take some pictures, right? I went back to Chakryn because it's so gorgeous, and just lolled around on the ground, enjoying the sunlight. Mmmhmmmmm.

My textures weren't updating for people around me yesterday because something had been amiss in a recent Emerald viewer update. If you're using Emerald, you need to go to the website and reinstall the upgrade with the "fixed" version.

In the second picture the faun standing next to you is the delightful Etoile. I know her from House Erebos, a medieval/fantasy kingdom where we both role play. I am a fae there. Any time you wish to try a fairy, just let me know :D
It is so wonderful you have found a faun in you (such uber-cute faun ;-).
I know it isn't easy to find a not-so-human avatar that suits you, but it will expand your horizont in new and unsuspected ways... including looking for answer to some trascendental questions like: "does it go with my hooves?" or, "where could I find this horns in red?".

It's interesting how a new avatar makes you feel different indeed. I just changed myself and have a post about it in the pipeline. Only for me the non-human thing is as natural as breathing the digital air ;-)
